Social Entrepreneurship

As entrepreneurs change the face of business, social entrepreneurs act as the change agents for society, seizing opportunities others miss and improving

Social entrepreneurs are creating a buzz and academia has taken notice of the significant impact they are having on a global scale. In the UK, the government has firmly supported the role of social entrepreneurs in society through appointing a Minister of the Third Sector, a role dedicated to promoting social enterprises.

During these economically unstable times, the success stories of social entrepreneurs light a path to a future of economic sustainability where endless profit is no longer the bottom line. The words of Margaret Mead remind us to:

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Social entrepreneurs are demonstrating day-by-day that changing the world for the better is a lot easier than we sometimes think.

Special thanks to and Mark Pomerantz, a dedicated social entrepreneur who educated me on the definition you see above.
